This is the studio of illustrator Julia Rothman and her husband, filmmaker Jan Oliver Lucks. But it is also a place for all of us - to be creative, meet other fun people, draw, dance, talk, experiment. The space is located at 543 Union St at Nevins in Gowanus, Brooklyn.

In this edition of Seen Here, we welcome the incomparable dynamic dancer and choreographer Angela Trimbur.
Expect high kicks, jazz hands, and fiery poses ready to be captured in your unique drawing style.
As always our guest will be in conversation with journalist Joshua David Stein, offering a behind-the-scenes look at the life of a modern dancer. From the studio classes to the stage and screen, we’ll get the inside scoop on her creative process while you sketch the spectacle.

Imagine speed dating but drawing instead of talking! Also nix the romance. We will sit in pairs across from each other and rotate after 6 minutes until everyone has been drawn. We will share all the portraits on the wall and see how everyone saw everyone. This is gonna be super chaotic in all the best ways! Please bring loose paper for this- not bound books so we can hang all the portraits at the end. And whatever supplies you want. Beer and seltzer is complimentary. Ticket non-refundable.
